There are a few details to look for when visiting a website. Some of the details which are often neglected hold real value and help in distinguishing a "REAL" but "Poorly Designed" website with a "FAKE/ SUSPICIOUS" but "Professionally Designed" website. Although all website owners and any business having online presence do understand the importance and need to have a good website but in some cases these aspects are overlooked.

Some of the most important or "key" information to look/ find on the websites are:

1. Contact information
- This information is present on "Contact" page, at end of website, on "About" page or similar page. A valid address of actual physical location narrowing down to a building/ establishment with correct pin code should be present. You might also search for that address on maps to check for the actual location and cross checking if the address is valid and belongs to that company. business.
2. Contact Page and Method - On the contact page, look for a physical address and additional ways to contact. Most of the established business operating though an office or registered address will give the complete address, timings, email ids and a contact form. Whereas only a contact form without any additional information is not a standard practice.
3. Email Ids
- Using a business email ids are encouraged and considered as professional business practices. Look for email ids in a format [email protected] for a websitename.com. The email id should have the domain name in most of the cases.
4. Broken Links/ Under Construction Page/ Portion - Any page/ portion with key details is usually not made available to public. Businesses do not launch or start their website without key information and details. So if the important or obvious pages are under construction or have broken link then you should check more details. This shows negligence and carelessness and something taken seriously by any serious business owner.
5. SSL Certificate - Look for a green colour "lock" in the URL area of browser. The website should be using "https" instead of the old practice of "http". This is similar to which is visible on most of the websites and especially on bank websites.
6. Privacy Policy/ Terms and Conditions/ Disclaimer Pages - These are part of standard pages and should be present, complete and sensible in most of the cases.
7. Random Text/ Dummy Text - If you find text/ lines/ paragraphs/ boxes which do not make sense then probably its a dummy text (part of basic website design) and should actually not be there. This text is modified into human readable text and something which is useful and relevant.
8. Registration Numbers/ Names/ Codes - Depending on type of business/ activity it might be mandatory/ advisable/ standard business practices. This kind of business include "Registered Name" of business, "Registration Number of Business", "Business Code" (depending on activity in some cases instead of registration number), "Special Codes" (in case of defence/ similar activities or association with them), "Type of Company"
9. Testimonials - These are widely manipulated by new and fake business. Mentioning names, comments or testimonials by big and well known firms/ organizations. Testimonials, if any, should be from the same field, related to business activity and similar level players. No big companies endorse small business, especially directly. Any such testimonials/ achievements are made though press release or other means, these are very rare cases.
10. Images/ Logo - Random/ irrelevant images or images too good to be true or to attract attention. Trying to divert attention from "text" and other written information. Unlinked images/ Names/ Logo of big companies either in testimonial/ partner section is another attempt to fake the big nature.
