available on various pages on top right side.

It may be only text or with a poll. To ask a question, simply identify a suitable category or visit a category and click on "Post Thread". If no poll is required, you can ignore the "Post a Poll" option.

If you wish to create a poll also, you need to start by clicking on "Post Thread". Thereafter, to add poll, click on "Post a poll" to get the required options.

Creating New Threads

Here are the simple things to make most out of you each visit to our discussion forum. While starting with a new discussion/ query/ question/ chit-chat:
  • Start threads in the most relevant forum category.
  • Don't create empty posts that contain nothing but a link (if you are going to link to a news article for example, give a summary of it in your own words). Be careful when linking to sites you are affiliates with, as it may cross the lines into self-promotion/spamming.
  • Unless it's Earth shattering news (successful colonization of Mars would qualify for example), don't post press releases.
  • Don't post personal attacks against other members. Take up whatever your issue you have with them privately. The world probably doesn't care that you don't like Joe or Bob.
  • Search before you post a new thread, because there's a good chance someone already posted it. We don't need 50 threads letting everyone know Urban Planning is still largely unknown profession ... One is enough. However, suggestions & ideas are invited to increase awareness about it.
Posting

Some of the things people like to try and do that isn't allowed...
  • Don't post in threads just to "bump" them to the top of the list of threads. If you would like to push your thread to the top, simply use the "Bump" link within the first post of any thread you started.
  • Don't hijack threads/topics. This includes (but not limited to) purposely changing the subject, posting in someone's sales thread to offer your opinion (like "great design" or "unlimited hosting is a scam" when you have no intention of buying).
  • Don't post things that have no relevance to anyone other than who you are replying to (for example posting "PM Sent" or something along those lines is not necessary because the system already alerts them). If you really want to let someone know you sent them a private message, tell them in an extra private message to them.
  • Don't be lazy and "post offers". Do not reply to threads with your copy and paste offers (including "check out this thread", "check my signature", or "I have a blog, interested?"). Instead, take the time to send a worthwhile PM to your potential business client. Copy/paste posts, junk posts, and other ambiguous replies will be treated as spam and will be deleted, wasting your time and ours. We may also issue spam warnings which could very quickly lead to a ban.
  • Don't mask your links with a URL that redirects the user. If you want to link to something, link to the actual page. This includes affiliate links which are only allowed in signatures (not posts).
  • Don't post stuff that is a copy/paste. We don't have any need for duplicate content/plagiarism.
Promotions/ Self Promotions/ Paid Promotions & Celebrities!

Self promotions are not allowed. We have simple rules dealing with these situations as listed below:

1. You start XYZ service, however you are not supposed to post about your service here. If you feel that your service is useful for the community, please contact us & we will help you with it (we really support your entrepreneurial spirit, let's make it famous the right way)
2. You start XYZ service but because of above point, you ask your friend to post about it. This is again not allowed. Your friend's post might get approved and stay for some time on the community but they will eventually be caught & banned. So please avoid doing that.
3. You start XYZ service, you post a good description about it, its usefulness, problem it solves & the additional benefit you are providing to the community. You are allowed to do that provided it remains largely helpful or informative and very less promotional. However these posts are closely monitored and might be deleted if they turn promotional.
4. You start XYZ service, some celebrity endorsed/ promoted it. You may get in touch with us and most probably your post will be approved. This is allowed on case to case basis. We have a bias here because it is promotional but to reach that level, your service/ product will be good. Else you have good contacts and know branding & marketing. We need more people like you and expect you to help the whole community with your skills/ product. Such biases are allowed if they can help the whole community while providing you with users.
5. You start XYZ service, you want a paid promotion. This is allowed, contact us with more details instead of posting a thread. We will discuss the details and get back to you with possible options.
6. Any other case - simply contact us, we do not want to & cannot list out each & every possible case. We aren't experts at permutation & combinations but have a fair idea of how to get things done.
